A panel of three judges in the 3rd District Court of Appeals recently ruled that a man who pleaded guilty to felonious assault was properly sentenced to the maximum allowable prison term of eight years.

The defendant, Christopher Silva, appealed from the April 1, 2015 judgment of the Henry County Court of Common Pleas.

He argued that his sentence was contrary to law and that the trial court notified him of an incorrect period of postrelease control.
