Plan would lessen workers' comp risks for firms

A Clayton lawmaker has said a bill that would temporarily defer the charging of workers’ compensation claims to a state fund when a third party may be liable for the claim is rooted in helping employers.

“You are a small business owner. You work hard to keep all your expenses in line. You pay your bills on time, you file all your taxes and you have the proper insurance to protect your business as well as your employees,” said Rep. Michael Henne.
