Increased accountability for Ohio charter schools sought

Spurred by a new bill calling for audit and record-keeping requirements for community schools, William Phillis, executive director of the Ohio Coalition for Equity & Adequacy of School Funding, has said that proposals crafted to legislate charter school transparency and accountability have been “buried” in the General Assembly.

“Even with a staggering magnitude of charter school fiscal fraud and educational failure, legislative leaders have been unwilling to alter state policy to bridle the widespread charter school mischief,” he said.
