2013 marks 25 years since key law passed for women business owners

This year was a landmark for women business owners across the country as they celebrated the 25th anniversary of the passage of the Women’s Business Ownership Act of 1988.

The act, designated HR 5050, set out to create equality between women business owners and their male counter parts.

Specifically, it eliminated state laws requiring women to have a male co-sign on a business loan and established national groups that would support women in business.
