Proposed legislation designed to increase privacy of small business owners

State Rep. John Rogers, D-Mentor, has introduced a bill into the Ohio General Assembly that would set limits for the online release of identifying home-based business information.

Under current state law, the Ohio Department of Taxation must publish certain information, including the location and contact person, of all Ohio businesses online.

Rogers said House Bill 282 was crafted to improve the security of small businesses that operate out of the owner’s residence.
