A pair of Democratic lawmakers from Cleveland have introduced a bill into the Ohio General Assembly that would create a commission to study various forms of violence against women and children, including emotional, physical and socio-economic violence.

House Bill 275, sponsored by Reps. John Barnes Jr. and Bill Patmon, would establish the Commission on Violence Against Women and Children.

“My community came to me with a problem,” Patmon said in sponsor testimony last week before the House Health and Aging committee.
