Court ordered to reconsider death penalty for woman who killed former husband

A Trumbull County woman’s death sentence for the murder of her ex-husband was vacated and remanded for resentencing for the second time yesterday in an opinion from the Supreme Court of Ohio.

The majority ruled that the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas erred by failing to consider Donna Roberts’ allocution statement at a resentencing hearing after it previously vacated her sentence and remanded the case.
