Bill would ban statewide elective officers from getting outside compensation

Freshman lawmaker Nicholas Celebrezze has said it’s worrisome that a policy against statewide officeholders accepting outside compensation could be added to Ohio law.

“It is disconcerting that we are in a situation where we have to spell this out through legislation,” said Celebrezze, who is jointly sponsoring a bill with fellow House member, Rep. Ron Gerberry, to end private-sector pay for state officials.
