With a new school year arriving a Bexley lawmaker has debuted a bill focused on amending district policies for improper behavior.

The measure is sponsored by Sen. Charleta Tavares.

Tavares, a Democrat, said children who lack a stable, nurturing home environment often see school as a safe haven.
