Lawmaker pushes for shale industry to benefit from hiring Ohioans

Introduced as the Hire Ohio bill, House Bill 63, marks the second attempt from a Bellaire lawmaker to establish a tax credit for certain oil and gas industry practices.

The proposed legislation, sponsored by Rep. Jack Cera, would carve out a nonrefundable commercial activity tax credit for companies that hire Ohio residents for oil and gas production services.
