Charity could result in a tax break under Senate Bill 135.

The proposed legislation, sponsored by Sen. Charleta Tavares, would establish nonrefundable tax credits for donations to nonprofit entities and municipal agencies providing community services.

“This bill offers value-added incentive for individuals and businesses to invest in our communities,” said Tavares, D-Bexley, in sponsor testimony before the Senate Ways and Means committee.
