Bill mandates gun locks to deny child access

The sponsor of a bill that would prohibit individuals from storing or leaving a firearm in their home under certain circumstances has said the measure wasn’t crafted to trample on the Constitution.

“I am sure there are many concerns that arise regarding this legislation, its constitutionality and the potential infringement of an individual’s Second Amendment rights,” said Rep. Bill Patmon, D-Cleveland, regarding House Bill 31.
