Bexley lawmaker Charleta Tavares is sponsoring a bill that would require private, out-of-state schools, camps, institutions or other entities that house delinquent children from Ohio to comply with the same standards as in-state facilities.

“What we are attempting to accomplish with this bill is the assurance of fair, decent and appropriate care for delinquent children from our state who have been referred to out-of-state facilities for treatment,” said Tavares, a Democrat, of Senate Bill 74.
