Military spouse unemployment compensation bill merged into budget proposal

Since being introduced and then reintroduced this legislative session, a bill that would grant unemployment benefits to military spouses has now been rolled into the state’s operating budget proposal.

“I am pleased that some of my colleagues finally realized how important this issue is for Ohio’s military families,” said Rep. Connie Pillich, D-Cincinnati. “This law is long overdue in Ohio. It is a relatively small act that has the potential to produce significant and positive results in the lives of military families.”
