Lawmakers make another attempt to require only a rear license plate in Ohio

A bipartisan proposal to do away with Ohio’s requirement of a front license plate on motor vehicles has been reintroduced into the Ohio General Assembly.

House Bill 133, jointly sponsored by Reps. Stephen Slesnick, D-Canton, and Terry Johnson, R-McDermott, states that the display of a single current license plate and validation sticker on the rear of a motor vehicle would “sufficiently” indicate the vehicle is registered in Ohio.
