Reps. Andrew Brenner and Matt Huffman are backing a resolution calling for the repeal of the new federal excise tax on medical devices.

In offering sponsor testimony for House Concurrent Resolution 6, Brenner, R-Powell, criticized the creation of the tax, which is included in the Affordable Care Act.

“The $30 billion medical device tax will harm job creation, deter medical innovation and increase the cost of health care,” he said. “Congress should repeal it before it can do more damage to American innovation.”
