A Copley lawmaker is pushing for the passage of a bill to expand the bounds of civil immunity for physicians.

House Bill 421, sponsored by Rep. Lynn Slaby, would grant civil immunity to physicians who report a patient’s use of a drug of abuse or another condition to specified individuals or entities.

The measure was introduced into the Ohio General Assembly last week.

Rep. Sean O’Brien, D-Brookfield, has joined Slaby, a Republican, as a joint sponsor of the proposal.
