Judges reject claims that woman's death was work-related, deny workers' compensation

Rejecting a widower’s arguments that his wife’s death was the result of work-related activities, a 10th District Court of Appeals panel this week affirmed a trial court’s summary judgment in favor of the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.

The three-judge appellate panel on Tuesday dismissed Thomas Davis’ claims that a causal connection existed between his wife’s death, which occurred while she was walking from a parking lot to her job, and her work for the Ohio Education Association.
