Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP partner H. Ritchey Hollenbaugh has been elected president of the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation Board of Trustees.
“We are honored to have such extraordinary individuals leading our board at this critical economic time,” said Angela Lloyd, executive director of the foundation.
Hollenbaugh will serve with Jim Petro, chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents and former Ohio Auditor of State and Ohio Attorney General, who was elected to serve as the board’s vice president.
Joseph Mas, a 330 Lawyers Group partner, was re-elected as the board’s treasurer and Kathy Burke, former commissioner of the Ohio Lottery, was elected to serve as the board’s secretary.
“We believe that their collective experience and wisdom will help OLAF address the many challenges in adequately funding civil legal services in Ohio,” Lloyd said.
Sugarman to chair YMCA board
Roger Sugarman, director of Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter, has been selected as chair of the metropolitan board of trustees of the YMCA of Central Ohio.
The board oversees and helps to shepherd the growth, viability and longevity of the organization.
Sugarman, who will serve as chair for two years, lauds the YMCA as a “great organization, providing a breadth of programs and services throughout Central Ohio.”
McAdams to head health care practice
Porter Wright recently announced that a partner with the firm, Robert (Bob) McAdams, will co-chair its health care practice group.
McAdams, who joined the firm in 2009 with more than 20 years experience as a health care attorney, joins Rich Terapak who has served as chairman of the group since 1997.
McAdams is a graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of Law and the University of Virginia.
COAJ officers and directors sworn in
The Central Ohio Association for Justice swore in its new slate of officers and board members at its Annual Membership Luncheon this month.
The new officers are Karen Weis, president; Janica Pierce Tucker, vice president; David Meyer, secretary and Sean Harris, treasurer.
The directors are Scott E. Wright, Jessica Olsheski, Michael Bonasera and Troy Doucet.
The COAJ officers and directors expressed gratitude for the exemplary leadership this past year of outgoing COAJ President Robert J. Wagoner.
The COAJ is comprised of more than 200 Central Ohio attorneys.
Steptoe & Johnson attorneys promoted
Steptoe & Johnson attorneys Lyle Brown and Vincent Holzhall have been elevated from associate to of counsel.
Both Brown and Holzhall are members of the firm’s litigation practice group.
Brown concentrates in the area of business litigation. He has experience in the areas of appellate practice, administrative agency litigation and appeals, long-term care litigation and probate litigation.
He is a graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and Haverford College.
Holzhall concentrates his practice in the area of commercial and business litigation, with an emphasis on banking and financial institutions.
He is a a graduate of the University of Illinois, Columbia University and the University of Notre Dame.
